BIBLE STUDY GROUP
Along with our weekly services, we at St Margaret’s meet regularly to explore the riches of the Scriptures in a small but lively study group. We read and discuss Bible passages and also look at related topics such as the Creed, the Liturgy and the true meaning of the main Christian Feast, like Easter and Christmas. These groups are led by our Lay Reader, Eckart Floether.
Unfortunately, at the moment we cannot meet in person in the church, but we have embraced technology and our regular Zoom discussion has been most successful.

Last year, we studied the Letters of St John and St Peter and the book of the Prophet Jeremiah. And we met for an Advent-Course on two Mondays in November.

We started this year discussing: 'Why we pray?", "What to pray?" and "How to pray?"

In preparing for Lent, we met on four Monday-evenings and discussed the meaning of "Christ's temptation", why "Jesus grieves over Jerusalem", "The meaning of repentance" and "The parable of the prodigol son".

In preparation for Holy Week, we studied "Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem", the meaning of the "Lord's Supper" and why 'Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane".

We will meet again in the New Year to discuss "Christ and the meaning of life".

We would be delighted to welcome anyone from any background interested in participating in our stimulating and often wide-ranging deliberations.
